Gadria (Gah-dree-ah) is a Black, cisgender, social justice-oriented Licensed Master Social Worker who is passionate about supporting individuals and families as they navigate life experiences, identity, relationships, and personal growth. Her background in movement sparked a deep interest in the connection between lived experiences and the ways they can manifest within the mind and body.
Gadria works with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem and body image concerns, and relationship challenges. She has a particular interest in women’s issues and supporting individuals throughout the prenatal and postpartum periods, recognizing the emotional, physical, and relational changes that can accompany these transformative stages of life.
Gadria takes a collaborative, person-centered approach and tailors treatment to each client’s unique needs, identities, strengths, and goals. Her clinical approach is strengths-based and incorporates somatic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and multicultural perspectives. She also integrates yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices to help clients cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and connection between mind and body.
In addition to her clinical work, Gadria provides doula services to individuals and families, helping them feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum experience. Her work in both therapy and doula care reflects her commitment to honoring each person’s autonomy, identity, lived experience, and inherent strengths.
As a transracial adoptee, Gadria brings a unique perspective to her clinical work and understands the importance of looking beyond what may be visible on the surface. She strives to create a compassionate, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, challenge stigma and societal expectations, and develop a stronger sense of empowerment and autonomy.
Gadria holds B.S. degrees in Social Work and Dance from Skidmore College (2021) and a Master of Social Work from Smith College (2024).
